Job Description:
Literacy Coaches
Two Positions to begin as soon as possible
The instructional coaches will be 2-year positions (2009-2010 and 2010-2011) in partnership with Great Prairie AEA.
Job Goal: To increase students' achievement by providing teachers professional development in evidence-based strategies and on-going support to ensure implementation with high fidelity.
Elementary Requirement: Elementary certification; Reading endorsement; minimum of 3 years successful classroom teaching experience; Experience with Every Student Counts strategies in the class desirable; Experience with Every Child Reads strategies in the classroom; Experience with Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math desirable; Experience with Sue Beers Reading Strategies desirable
Primary Elementary Assignment: Wells-Carey Elementary
Secondary Requirement: Secondary certification preferred; elementary certification considered, reading endorsement; minimum of 3 years successful classroom teaching experience; Experience with Second Chance Reading desirable; Experience with Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math desirable, Experience with Sue Beers Reading Strategies desirable
